Anyone know the proper way to collect them? I found a big one that I want to take. It should be vacant but I thought I read that you can bag it with some lacquer thinner to take care of any survivors.

I have always cut them down, put them in a garbage bag and "bug bombed" the bag and closed it up for a month. Then I spray on a clear coat finish (takes a couple coats) to preserve it and it has always worked out well for me.
