Curious as to who all has taken a 4 row planter and fabricated it themselves.
- Back story, I picked up a JD 7000 4 row planter on 38" rows this weekend. I will be removing the tongue hitch and fabricating a quick hitch setup on the front of the planter. Which requires removal of the hydraulic components, marker arms, and ground drive mount assembly. I am planning on fabricating my own setup for the wheels frame mounting for the ground drive, but I am curious as to if anyone has kept the main frame of the planter or if it is just easier to start with new rectangular tubing and mount/fabricate everything to it?
TIA
