This has been a mild summer compared to the last few years where the heat has risen surface temps to the mid-80's, halting musky fishing for the most of July and even into August. While the water has certainly climbed over 80 for a few weeks this summer, the overnight lows and rain we've been getting across much of the Midwest this summer has brought the levels down and made for fun night fishing that's safer for the fish during that warm period. Nevertheless, this is the first summer in five years musky fishing didn't have to warm the bench and we've really taken advantage of it.

Sweet. I've always wanted to get into musky fishing but I don't know that I have the patience. I catch one by accident every couple years and they sure do fight.
