Preference points

I understand that everyone that did not receive a tag last year has a preference point for this year. Does anyone know how many applied that did not get tags? I guess I am trying to find out my odds of drawing this year with a preference point. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The number that you would be interested in would be for whatever zone you applied for.

My understanding is that all NRs who got preference points will go into a special "hat" from which all of next year's licenses (2002)would be drawn. If the zone you applied for has more applicants than tags then there is a chance you still will not get drawn. However, if the number of applicants is less than the allotment then everyone who applied for that zone will get a tag.

After all NR preference point applicants are taken into consideration then whatever tags are left over will be drawn from the regular application "hat".
