Weekend Walleyes

Back in March, a buddy and I went halves on a guided fishing trip with Dakota Prarie Outfitters at a Whitetails Banquet. We got it at a decent price and asked our other good friend Meathunter, to go with. This pat weekend was the time we set up as we could all get off work. So on Friday we set off for Chamberlain South Dakota. We fished on Saturday and Sunday. We boated over 280 fish for the two days. We caught some nice eyes and some real nice small mouths. It was a much needed break for the three of us and I plan to go back and fish with this guide. I am holding two of the biggest smallies we caught. Never weighed them but I guested them as 4 pounders maybe?

Drove through Chamberlain recently and wondered about fishing the lake.

Maybe should have stopped. ;)

Looks like a great time!

Congrats. Looks like a great trip! I'd say those are 4lbs all day! Hard to beat limits of eater eyes!

We stayed at a hotel in Oeacoma, (Sp?) just across the river from Chamberlain. It was called Al's Oasis. Nothing fancy, fair price and about par for motels. The guide said the pik were nice sized but did not see many caught each year because of lack of vegetation he felt. We did see another boat real in about a 5-6 lb pike on Sunday. We fished lake Sharp which was about a 30 minute drive from Chamberlain.
