I did, a week ago tomorrow. Hand broadcast 50lb on roughly 3/4 of an acre and light disced with ATV disc then cultipacked. Should be good to go temp has gone down and 1.7" of rain the other day. Will post pic in a week or so.
I had an existing great stand of rye from last fall that I let mature, I mowed it and disced it in late july to reseed itself. Looked like a thick stand of rye on Aug 15 with the tips being yellowish. First part of Sept it is dead and bare ground. I'm guessing it was just too early because...
So I planted cereal rye on July 25 or so. Early I know but it was the only available time I could do it and get the help to do it. On Aug 15 I noticed it came up good(2" tall) but had a little yellow tint to it. Now it looks to be almost bare ground. Did my rye die off, go dormant or did the...
This is a little late but it will help break up the lull in activity on here before shed picking gets good. I had nine cameras out for three weeks prior to the late muzzleloader season. When I checked them on the 26th of December I had zero shooters and only a couple of decent three year old...
Maybe people are starting to do the right thing and realizing that shooting a ton of does + the EHD has dramatically downsized the deer population, and isn't the best thing for our future. I for one have seen a huge drop in population for the last two years. I sure hope the DNR cuts the doe...
Well after I don't know how many hours in the stand it all paid off on the afternoon of Nov 30. I went in for one buck only and it just so happened he showed up. This deer would show up on my camera going both directions on various days. It wasn't til I killed that I figured out what he was...
Ha ha not what you expected I'm sure. To me its all the same I was able to cross something off my bucket list. Taking a bobcat with a bow is one of the highlights of my bowhunting career. On the evening hunt Nov 14 this cat strolled by at 24 yds. I made good on the shot and he didn't go very far...
There are some good, some great, some not so good, and some terrible. In the end though they all help us support our God given right to be free and able to hunt period. We can all have our opinions but don't run anyone out of the business as long as they are helping to support. Its normal, if...
Well I'm not sure what to think about this guy/or gal.. Either this is an ancient buck of all time or it is a hermaphrodite deer. Not sure but he/she/it has show up again this year on cam. Going to try and get one of the youth hunters on this deer to find out for sure. Either way I thought it...
go to your local woods dealer and rent a 72" tiller. Just get a 40horse or bigger tractor and getter done. Easy to run and creates a very nice seed bed for brassicas.
Only one way to find out! Kill him and send in jaw for aging. My guess is he is older than 3, but without any prior history some deer just age different than others. He could be a freak of nature. I think your looking at a gross 180's buck there by the time he is done.
