Lots of action for me. 4 bucks chasing 1 doe from 7:30 until 9. One shooter but never came in closer than 100 yards. Have had deer moving all day. 20+ different deer so far.
Good movement in my timber in NE Iowa. 3 does 4 bucks. 1 shooter that was hot after one of the does. The others were cruising but only 3.5 and younger.
I just want to wish everyone good luck for the start of the season, and for the rest of the season. May god be with you and may all of your arrows fly true.
So tired of the rain. I live in Decorah and hunt the surrounding area. I have one property that I can only access by crossing the Yellow river. I have not been able to get in to it for over a month due to poor timing and tons of rain. If it keeps this up I don't know what Im gonna do
Had anybody shot them??? Gonna make my way to Anthem Archery and shoot both. If you have shot which do you prefer?? Looking to up grade for next year so any input would be great. Any other bows out there that I should take a look at??? Thanks in advance.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Today is a day to give thanks to everything and everyone that we are thankful for. Hoping that everyone out there can make it to your destinations safely with the weather. Especially in the northwest corner of the state.
Rut? What rut? It's been so on and off I don't know what to do. Bucks are not responding to anything I throw at'em. Some are chasing, some are cruising and others are just out for their morning and afternoon walk. Talk about frustrating. NE Iowa is hot, cold, and everything in between.
Rage is the only thing I've ever shot. I've never had issues with deflection. Last years buck had two broken ribs on entry and two on exit. Not saying that it can't happen but I don't think its limited to Rage.
I was wonder how many of you find deer (bucks) dead during shotgun season. My group found two mature (160ish) buck this weekend. We endined up tagging both because of the size. Both deer had been shot up the rear to put it nicely. Both had good blood trails leading to them. Found both on sunday...
Well I cant speak for that area, but as for any public area during shotgun hunting, be ready. Not all shotgun hunters on public land are this way but in my area it seems that way. When you get 15+ hunter walking throught the woods shooting every thing that moves and you are in a stand this is a...
What was the sound when the arrow hit the deer? Was it a hard crack or did it not make to much of a sound. If it was a hard crack I'm sure that it hit the shoulder blade. I had that happen to me and there was alot of blood right way but it ended up drying up. Never did find her.
