I think it is legal but couldn't find any info on it if it is legal or not.
I think that is another reason the DNR wants to ban all bait. It would be hard to prove that you put it there and if you are not right over top of it, to prove you even knew it was there.
When buying stuff to put out 99% of all the blocks are rocks are usually 90% or more salt. Most the time the list of ingredients and % are on the packages. You can get a 5lb block of salt and save your money and get the same results.
