Rant of the Day

Agree. Thankfully the minimum wage didn't get passed. Prices of everything are already going to skyrocket with fuel. Raising many wages would only make it worse

$ has clearly always been an issue in politics. BUT..... it’s grown exponentially worse lately. Dominates it for your typical political class.

Heck- look what just happened in iowa with the deer hunting threats - AGAIN - all because of $!!!!! Crossbow lobby to sell more crossbows, NR outfitting tags, etc. The Republicans in iowa, a good size group of them- it’s shameful. Owned by $ & greed. Sickening.

Agree - out of control at all levels. Fed to local. Cannot go on like this. & will not go on like this forever - this will have a day of reckoning. Inflation, economic downturns or major catastrophe. Spot on, this is insanity!!

It's basically baby steps towards UBI (universal basic income). Create the expectation/dependency - soon the voters will demand it. No doubt there are pockets of the economy that were gutted through no fault of their own but rather gov'ts shutdown mandates. But the broad brush style at which this debt load was handed out was GROSSLY irresponsible by our elected officials. Targeted assistance for those truly in need was necessary - helicopter money for the masses is financial INSANITY ………………. RANT OVER - again

I think we'll be ok if we get back to a shit hot pre covid Trump economy but that wont last for long with capitalism facing stiff head winds. Trump 2024

There is a Democratic bill in Congress to GIVE black farmers 160 acres. The link is on Successful Farming website. It would expand black owned farmland by 32 million acres with land grants over the next 10 years!

Scary

I’ve fought 30 years to own 200. 160 just cause? Where do I sign up. When are politicians gonna realize free stuff is devaluing. The recipients trash it cause they didn’t earn it. Unreal.

Yup thank mr booker for that bill 160 acre for ten years straight total of 32 million acres to 20000 black farmers... sounds fair right since nobody on this website ever worked their butts off for a piece of land right.... what a joke.... said the government would buy farmland wherever they wanted...

This goes right along with their proposed changes to the estate tax laws. They want to make it so at death the estate must pay capital gains on the increase in value of the land even if it is an unrealized gain(so even if it isn't sold). So this will force a lot of heirs to sell at least some of the land they inherit to cover the capital gains tax. That is how they can say they won't seize any land, they will just buy it. While that is true, their policy changes, if they get passed, will create a lot more land for sale. Just a continuation of the punishment to the people that didn't vote for this regime.

Could the landowner who plans to pass on the ground to the heir, presuming usually son/daughter etc, just sell it to them for super cheap? Say 500 acres of farm ground and instead of just leaving it in a will and then the heir having to pay capital gains tax they buy it for say $500 dollars, instead of inherit it. Would that by a way to avoid the death tax?

Nope. If you do that, then our lovely government says the difference in what you sold it to them for and the fair market value is a gift. Then that amount is subject to gift tax. I'm sure there will be some way to avoid capital gains on unrealized gains if they get this passed or if they do an executive order on it. It will force estate lawyers to get creative. Maybe more farms will have to incorporate to avoid it, I'm not really sure. This is a very real issue for me as my dad owns 1200 acres and my father in law owns 400. I will be third generation to own a lot of this land and want to make sure the fourth generation will own and farm this land as well.

Take our guns. Take our land. Communism at its finest. Good luck with that. Sounds like a great way to start a revolution.

I figured that would be to easy
