What do you think of these Liquid Calcium products

I have low PH and don't have a way to put Ag Lime down, and have used the pelletized lime like 98Cal or 98G in the past but at $9-10 for 50 lbs bags costly and time consuming.

I have been looking at some of the different options out there for raising PH like the liquid calcium products below.

What are your thoughts and has anyone tried any of these?

Plot Start
Agritec

Good question. I have not used them. Not sure if they are all equal but here’s one university article on them, worth reading for sure….

Sounds like after reading the article above it's not ideal.
What do you think of the Pelletized Lime products 98Cal / 98G? I have read only good things on these other then more expensive, some say you only need 90% of what a your soil sample of Ag Lime says.
A lot of the Co-ops will sell it in Bulk vs 50 Lb bags, gets you a better price.

Pelletized lime like 98cal is great!!! Downside is 2 fold…. Have to apply yearly & the cost is very high. The plus side: works fast & great & does not have other things in it u might not want like some ag lime has (magnesium for example.

Ag lime is great due to: lower cost & often times one application lasts 5 years or so. Downside on ag lime…. Hard to find someone to apply if it’s for plots. Could take time to do it yourself though. Can have magnesium & if you’re in a mag high area- causes issues. It also takes months to break down.

If a guy had limitless funds: pour on pelletized lime. Or a do pelletized plus ag lime to get immediate + long term results. REALISTIC SOLUTION: apply pelletized yearly OR get a dump truck of ag lime & spend part of day getting it on so you’re set for 5-ish years.

I have been told by someone a lot smarter than me about these things that stuff will melt ice but not really change ph.

Kind of hard to put 1.5 tons of lime in a 2.5 gallon jug.

Find a way to put out some ag lime. Google drop spreader. You may find one you can rent. Guarantee you that there’s more than one up your way sitting in a barn not being used. Just have to find it.

I tried some plot start on a couple of small clover plots this past yr and was very impressed with results!! I soil tested before and again 6 mo. After application and it raised my ph on both plots between .5 and .7 !! How long does it last compared to lime?? Idk ? But i ordered 2 more 2.5 gallon jugs for plots this yr! Super simple to use and plots looked great! ( and no im not sponsored or have no affiliation with them!) Just my 2 cents!
