Ive been waiting for this guy for a long time. I passed on him in 2011.
In 2012 I had hundreds of pics of him all at night. I only saw him once from the stand and he was to far out. I passed on a lot if nice deer because I only wanted him.
2013
This year seemed like it was going to be a repeat until November 5th. I watched him walk right by a stand I wasn't in. I was sick! Two days later he came in downwind of me. I didn't hear, see or expect him to come from that direction. He was 20 yards from me when I got to watch him stomp, blow and run. I really didn't expect to see him again.
By November 18th I had passed on a lot of deer and one 9 point that I had decided I would shoot if he came by again. Then I saw the one I had been waiting for heading my way. I was in my ground blind and he came in perfect. He was about 20 yards away when I drew back only to have my arrow fall off the string. Now I'm freaking out fumbling around trying to get it back on. When I finally did he was at 15 yards staring at the blind. I drew again and he just continued on the path. I drilled him at eight yards. He ran about 25 yards, stood there for the longest 2 minutes of my life then dropped.
This was the greatest hunting experience of my life for sure!
