Bird flu /wild turkeys?

Has anyone heard of the bird flu which is spreading across the US is killing any wild turkeys?

Definitely a concern! Can't say I know any facts. But I'd be surprised if we don't lose some birds.

I believe the last big outbreak here was 2015. Our turkey population in warren county has never been the same. I found many dead turkey that had not been touched by predators.

I saw an article a few days ago that mentioned the government was destroying around 5 million chickens in Iowa chicken farms. If that transfers to wild birds it could easily hammer the Turkey population.

We have never recovered either in my area of Minnesota. It went from dozens of turkeys in one area, to not seeing a single bird the next fall.

I’d says we have 30-35% of the birds we used to have.

Not involving wild turkeys but some of the pictures and videos showing ponds full of dead snow geese are pretty wild

It can, and likely will, get into the wild turkeys. From what I understand, ANY bird is susceptible to HPAI (highly pathogenic avian influenza).
