Burning Timber for Food

We did a prescribed timber burn on our farm this spring to promote new shrub and forb growth for deer browse. We plan to burn 30-60 acres of timber every year on a 2 to 3 year rotation. Is anyone else using prescribed fire on there land to promote new browse and if so what kinds of results have you had?

Any prescribed burn will produce new growth in a few year. Its excellent for deer and other critters to come in the future..

Fire has been a great tool for me but so far I haven't been into the timber with it, I have some clearing to do because it has been neglected for so long. CRP and remnant prairie look very good, started to see more quail & pheasants once the grass wasn't so thick.
