For the past couple of years I've turkey hunted, I haven't seen, or heard a hen during breading season. Do they just stay quite by there tom?

The last 2 years I've called in a hen before the tom showed up. Sometimes if you get real aggressive with your calling the hen will try to run you off. Nothing better than a live decoy to bring in a longbeard
Last year a buddy and I called in several hens a couple different times. One morning, a hen came in that was pretty wound up and responded aggresively to some heated calling another friend of mine was doing across the gully. I have had the pleasure of listening to several hen "conversations" the past few years. Good luck and good hunting!
