This is a question for you guys that has hunted both states.Which is better hunting for mature bucks?I know they are killing some monsters in Ohio.

now- which state kills more mature bucks- probably Ohio...... way way way more big timber & cover & forest.
iowa literally just has very little habitat vs other states (6% timber) but “somehow” produces more mature deer than states with 2 to 20 times the habitat!!!!!

Property specific. I looked at moving to both states when I got the hell out of Michigan years ago. Spent several days in southeast Ohio checking it out. That is some neat country!

Are you talking an archery hunt? Whichever state has the gun season later, would be my choice if it was a bow hunt.
Fairly similar. Ohio is smarter than most states. They start very end of November or early December depending on the calendar. They also have a one buck rule.
