Pear wood slate.

I cut a pear tree down about a year ago at my in-law's. I figured I'd try to make a call out of a piece and see how it went. It ended up looking really cool! The other pic is of the striker I ended up turning for the walnut call I posted before.

That is some Beautiful work. I have never seen pearwood before that is cool.

That is nice, I will have to tell my dad about them, he also makes slate calls and that pear wood looks awesome.

Nice work! How do you cut and split your slate. I've found it tough to work with and could use some pointers.
