Questions about DBLTREE Rotation

With the high cost of fertilizer this year. I thought I read somewhere Sligh1 was stopping the spring temporary plots , and the rape seed is not being used in the Brassicas mix.

My question is have we changed the DBLTREE mix, and the rotation he used?

And if so. How are we managing the ground between Brassicas and the planting of winter Rye.

Some cost savers nowadays or especially when high fertilizer costs….
1) Use legumes to fix your Nitrogen. Clovers, peas, etc. You should need none for brassicas. CLOVER BLEND is the staple between rotations. & a component that should always be permanently 10-20% of any plot
2) soil samples still needed…. lime is still critical on getting PH right if needed. Sulfur as well. Then on P&K - manure if a guy had the means…. Otherwise…. Yes, there’s natural ways to get it with diverse cover crops. We sure don’t need massive amounts of commercial long term.
3) less tillage. No rotary tillers & such. Light disc or Harrow if any tillage.

That’s a start at least. Best wishes on this years projects.
