The second funnel was today, that means all policy bills needed to be through one chamber and through a committee of the other chamber to be alive.

The bills that SHOULD dead by rule:

HF2410 NRLO tags with requirements for minimum land and other stipulations.
HF2365 Late season unfilled bow tags, the main purpose of this bill was to classify crossbows as archery equipment.
SF2344 Increase NR tags to 7500.
SF2312 Caps the amount to a percentage of the selling price the DNR or CCB can pay for land.
SF2011 Youth deer tag sales during any season.

The bills that are still alive:

SF581 If it's brown it's down.
SF2334 .410/28ga for turkey, the tungsten requirement was dropped. It has been passed by both chambers but is still waiting to be processed.
HF2209 Youth accompanying hunters and trappers.
SSB3157 Tax bill that would fund the trust.
HF2369 Killing of nuisance animals. An amendment is being drafted to define what constitutes a "nuisance".
SF2323 DNR and CCBs owned land inventory.

I emphasized "should" because as we have all seen, dead bills are never truly dead. There are any number of legislative work arounds that may be employed to bring the dead back to life.

SF581…. Late shed buck season with rifles. Folks get 4 months & 6+ seasons. When there’s left over tags- maybe the hunters in the area know something? If they can’t fill tags in 4 months - they don’t need more shot or they would qualify as the most pathetic hunters on earth.
Here’s what Rozendoom (has to be the worst member in legislature & his name always attached to awful bills) has in mind…. When a county & locals down south says “we are done” (after 4 months) - he wants to bring down groups from Des Moines, other cities or places they shot all the deer they could. Often folks who don’t give a crap about the area- they just want to shoot. Saw this first hand years ago. Groups would do deer drives with rifles & I personally saw piles of deer thrown off at the “HUSH” locations. Glorified rabbit hunting- just want to blast. Shed bucks & button bucks galore….

The guys who had tight access or allowed no access clearly didn’t allow this. The average area with smaller parcels & plenty of pressure were the farms that got hit hardest & it damaged the average guy the worst. It killed off low population areas and hardly dented farms where access was restricted.
Rozendoom has a group of buddies & donors who hate deer & he’s on the wrong side of every wildlife issue. This guy should be primaried out.
Hey Rozendoom!!! …. Have your special interest buddies who hate deer post up “PUBLIC HUNTING” on their farms!!! Let the crowds hunt theirs full access to public instead of making ridiculous legislation to hurt the rest of the state. Did you know your pals can give their phone # to the private land biologist for the area & they will line up hunters for any part of the 4 month season to shoot does? You’re either ignorant, senile or a swamp politician that needs to go!
