Water troughs

Wondering who uses these for deer and how you do yours?
I did 1 in the past that was rubber/plastic and it eventually leaked. I think it was from deer hooves putting cracks in the bottom.
I'm thinking about getting a galvanized one. I usually put it in the ground with about 4-5" above ground to help keep leaves and debris out. Of course I have a water source close enough to fill it.

I have a few that are rubber material and they have made it many years! The plastic landscape tubs have worked for me as well.

I have used the 110 gallon tub you get from Tractor Supply. Never have buried mine. All types of critters use them. I’m in middle Georgia.

I bury 110 gal with the lip 1in below ground, so rain can run in. First one was 3 years ago and haven’t had to fill it since. Always put a ‘critter stick’ in to let those mice/squirrels who fall in have a way to get out.
