I zoomed in on one pic and it looks like a puss draining wound ahead of the shoulder. Projectile bump behind leg?

Nasty gash whatever caused it.

Years ago, I belly craweed through a muddy corn stubble field to within bow range of a nice buck bedded with a doe.
Killed him and upon skinning/butchering him, he had SO many puss pockets on him, I deemed him un edible.
He'd got his ass whooped by another buck.

I agree. Almost looks like you can still see part of the arrow in the entry point.

Probably “man made wound”. But I’ve seen similar where a buck rams another with rack &
Puts holes in body kinda like that.
