Alex had been talking up how he was going to shoot a buck... or at least something that "wasn't puny". 15 minutes after getting in the blind 4 big doe walked up on us and he suddenly thought deer heart sounded better than antlers. They got boogery but he held it on her and put it in the lungs. She went 75 yards downhill and died. It really sucked dragging that witch uphill as I ran the Quad City marathon yesterday in 4hr 30min... most of which it was down pouring. Anyway, with cramping legs we got her loaded up. Fun hunt. He showed great composure and judgment making a good safe shot.
