Early Season

I have my first archery tag this year and wondering if i should go out opening weekend or wait a few weeks. The reason is it it harder to call when there in bigger groups. The season is March 25.

I would go out opening weekend. The boys that go to Nebraska always have great luck. Put out a strutter and a bunch of hens and sooner or later something will come in. I would think if you scouted them a couple days in advance if they are that big of groups it would be pretty easy knowing where they will end up.

I like 1st and 4th seasons the best... 1st season u get the first crack at them, there is little undergrowth, and there are fewer ppl out chasing them... 4th season because the hens start to leave the toms to nest for good, but the toms aren't ready to quit yet which makes them a little more vulnerable to calling..especially late in the morning

Go early. Have been covered up with gobblers many times early in the year.

Hunted Iowa for years just cant get enough vication days to hunt Iowa. I will hunt Colorado and Nebraska only.
