Forged Knife

This started out last fall with a customer wanting a "Hudson Bay" knife with a rough forged finish. These are shaped like a butcher knife but much more robust at 1/4 inch thick steel.
I had told the guy that I didn't have a forge large enough to build it but would see what I could come up with. Then in March, a deal was struck and I was going to use a friends forge and shop to make it. Well, we couldn't seem to get together for a day to do it so I ended up having my friend forge the blade and then I would finish the piece.
Here's a short video of the forging process. Be sure to watch the end to see how sharp it is!

I put the walnut handle scales on it today and will stitch up a sheath tomorrow. Blade is nine inches and overall is 14.
