Fun on hard water

Ventured out onto the ice last weekend with my 5 year old for local AMVETS derby. Cold at first, then the sun broke thru and it was nice. Caught a fish about every 15 minutes - just quick enough to keep his attention!​

Brought plenty of hand/foot warmers!​

Caught a handful of 'gills. Around 10:30 a group of deer came out of the timber and walked out onto the ice about 200 yds from where we were sitting! :grin::grin:​

My boy won a new fishpole and an ice scooper for his patient efforts!
A great day in the outdoors!​
