While I wish I was able to hunt in Iowa, I live in upstate New York and have to make due. Anyways, my dad bought 160 acres close to where we live last year that was a nice piece of hunting property but needed some TLC. I planted a bunch of food plots with the help of advice from dbltree and leanred yesterday from an excavator that we will be able to dig a pond on the property. I was worried because there is a ton of limestone in the area and some area only have about 8-10" of topsoil. Water is the one piece of the puzzle we have been missing and I can't wait to see how it affects things. It will be in a field kinda near a road so I am going to screen it with some fast growing conifers and plant most of the remaing field in shrub and mast producing trees. The deer and turkeys are gonna love it!
