Hunter Referral Registry

Just wondered if anyone signed up for the Deer Hunter Referral Registry through the DNR and if anyone was actually contacted by a landowner? I signed up for several zones but was never contacted and wondered what the overall response was. It seemed like a great way for landowners to get help in thinning out the deer and for hunters to get access to more land to hunt.

I looked for a place to sign up as a landowner but didn't see one so I gave up. Doe hunters would be welcome many places, my neighbor and his boys are also filling all the doe tags they can this year.

i signed up and was contacted by a very nice farmer that was looking for hunters but was a little farther than i wanted to go to shoot does.

Is this something the DNR contacts you about or is there a place you can sign up at? Just wondering it never hurts to have you name out there.

The idea was to create a list of hunters willing to take does so that landowners with deer problems could contact them through the DNR to come out and help thin the herd. From the sound of it here, either the landowners aren't interested or were unaware of the program, but I still applaud the DNR for giving it a try.
