My first gun was a coast-to-coast 20 gauge. Still shoots better than most of its newer counterparts. Mossberg 500. Looks a little rough though. Good luck with it.
There's something special about first guns. When I was 18 (minimum age to purchase a long gun in this state) I saved up 400 bucks and bought myself a brand new Browning 12 gauge pump.
Take care of your shotgun and it will last for a lifetime or two.
