Iowa does not have a minimum age for hunters. On page 3 of the 2004 Iowa Deer and Fall Turkey Hunting Regulations and License Instructions (under EXCEPTIONS) it states:
* "Resident hunters under 16 years old hunting under the direct supervision of an adult need only a deer or turkey hunting license. The adult must be properly licensed to hunt deer or wild turkey."
* Resident hunters ages 12 through 15 who are permitted to hunt without adult supervision must have a hunting license and hunter education certification in addition to a paid deer or turkey hunting license."
I am going to get my 10 year old daughter shooting a bow here soon. She watches me constantly and is always askin when is iy her turn.Be awhile before she is huntin though. She goes with me to the stands too.
