Just going off surface area alone I'd say about 3 to 4 times greater. This also comes with a price however. They have great hearing in the direction the ears are pointing but it diminishes greatly in the other directions.
I was once filming a doe and fawn from the ground that were only about 8 ft. from me. They snuck in on me and the camera was off. I waited until their ears were pointed away from me to turn on the noisy video camera. They didn't have a clue I was there. There were other times that deer heard the sound from 15 yards away that were looking away but had those radar ears pointed in my direction.
