Sarah Palin!

I like it. I think as long as Mcain keeps his conservative agenda going, it will be a tough ticket to beat.

"She is a hunter, pilot and lifetime member of the NRA.
And she was runner-up for the Miss Alaska title, won Miss Congeniality in that contest, and plays the flute."

McCain is against drilling in Alaska at this point I believe, he is for offshore drilling. I think many are hoping Gov. Palin can help sway his stance on that. By "that" meaning drilling in Alaska.

"Palin, 44, married her high school boyfriend, Todd Palin, in 1988. He's an oil production operator on Alaska's North Slope."

"She was mayor and a City Council member of the small town of Wasilla, Alaska, and was chairman of the state Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which regulates Alaska's oil and gas resources, in 2003 and 2004."

Sound like she know a lil somethin bout oil.

Best pick since Teddy Roosevelt all though I have no idea what his political agendas were he did start the Boone and Crockett club though and was a huge big game hunter. Enough said.

I like this gal a lot though because she will cut the pork barrel spending in washington and between her and McCain i think they will do what they believe is right and not go with the wind or what the popular polls say like the democrats.

Plus she actually says she is against abortion unlike Obama who doesn't have a stance because he says "it's above his pay grade"

I like her, she seems like a tough gal unlike all the hope and fluff Obama puts out and let's sit down and talk w/ genocidal maniacs. He's an idiot!

At least she's not a socialist like Obama who thinks the gov't should give us everything.

I'd love to take her on a hunt in IA too! Maybe we can swap a whitetail hunt for a moose hunt.

I have to go with someone who has guts enough to say and standup for the truth and not hide from it.

Obama's comments were typical politics...hoping to avoid saying how he really feels!! Above his pay grade??? We're going to pay someone to make very difficult choices...so I want to vote for someone willing to tell me right now which choice they will make!!

Many say McCain's choice was "brilliant"...I have to agree!

So know you know where I stand as well.... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I told my wife last night McCain was going to play his trump card. I was thinking someone along the lines of Allan Keys....he/staff were brilliant with this choice. Makes me feel alot better going into November. She also is a heck of an athlete as well.

Let's see:
Pro Choice
Pro gun
Pro hunting
Pro millitary

Anti taxes
Anti corruption
Anti pork barrel

The lady has attention and vote

That pick made my day. I ordered my yard sign and bumper sticker today. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I just did an AP poll last night & told them I wasn't excited about McCain. I wish the poll was tonight instead. I still don't care for McCain BUT I do like her & her way of thinking. My vote will be towards her this November. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif

This was the best "news" our country has seen in a very, very long time. I could actually be motivated enough to be active in this election process now. Up til now, it just made me sick to my stomach to think about the possibilities. BTW, the next time your talking to one of your Democratic hunting buddies, ask em' why Obama's website doesn't even mention the 2nd Amendment? Anyone who claims to be a diehard hunter and doesn't vote Republican is a phony. JMO!

Am I mistaken, but isn't she Pro Life???

Doesn't she have 5 children, one with Down Syndrome which she chose to keep?

I have a hard time voting pro choice, in that my wife is pregnant with our first child and is only 19 weeks along. I have woken up crying (sorry, not trying to be a wimp) thinking that the child was miscarried somehow, only to realize it was a dream. Thank God it was only a dream; I can't imagine how someone feels after taking a life that isn't their own...

I am ultra-conservative, and with the direction the Republicans have taken lately, I just couldn't bring myself to vote for McCain. Now, I am going to strongly reconsider that position. From what I read and hear about her, she is likely to be a good influence on McCain and how he swings on decisions, and she won't just stand in the shadows. If she presents well in the next few weeks, it will be McCain's race to lose. I could see him winning by 10-15 points in November.
