I put my last stand out this afternoon. I probably don't have to tell anybody that it's pretty dog gone warm out today.
I adjusted my two main ladder stands by about 30 yards and 75 yards respectively from last year. Little changes that could end up paying off nicely later in the season. It's definately got me excited for 10/1.
The floods didn't do nearly as much damage to the primary farm that I hunt as I'd been imagining. I was able to drive my pickup through the whole thing for the first time in 9 months. My favorite stand would have had 4' of water at the base according to the water line on the trees and fences. There isn't as much deer sign on that farm as I'd hoped, but they'll be back when the rut hits.
I think I'll put my broadheads on tonight and start shooting them this week. I love retiring the field points for the fall!
