How cold does it have to get for brassicas to change and become sweet? We just had our first frost here in upstate new york, it got down to 33 and will do so again tonight. My property is on top of a ridge and it usually gets cooler out there. I was wondering what your experience is with the brassicas becomeing sweet and when the deer start pounding them?

Not an expert but I've been told that the first frost brings the sugar to the tops. Read through dbltree's brassica thread.
