I'm curious if there is alot of you that use movement in your decoy setups?

Not bobben heads or breeze induced motion.

I'm looking for something thats more controlable and life like.

The only thing I'm coming up with is fishing line or one of those motorized spinners.

Any other ideas would be great.

I like the fishing line tied onto pretty boy thing.... that has killed a lot of birds and its CHEAP!!!

The strutting 360 is awesome!! We had 10 times the success using it opposed to not using it. I haven't tried fishing line on the PB, but I have on hens and it usually ends up a tangled up mess.

A cheap Zebco fishing reel with green mono filament line solves all problems for tangled line. This is how I go and it works GREAT. When done, reel it up, no mess no muss.

I was looking at this but 80 buck for some bent 9 gage wire, calk line real, and a yellow tent stake??? Plus alot of the ground I hunt is thick timber with alot of bare ground, I dont think they would like the sled look.

Any more tips you guys wanna give up for the fishing line tied to PB?

Where to tie...best type of movement excites them....when to make him dance and the best dance...ect....thanks.

On the old PB I just tied the line to the beard as it's stiff plastic. I'd just give it a jiggle and he'd dance. Most times there was enough wind/breeze to get him to play like a windvane and face into the wind, I'd pull on the string and the wind/breeze would move him back into position...worked like a charm. On days without any breeze just a simple jiggle with the string and he'd move and bob just great.

Trust me, this is not something to over think, just tie on him somewhere solid and make him dance. I have found no dance routine that impressed gobblers more than others.

The strutting 360 makes a little noise but I have had hens 1ft away from it and it doesn't bother them. Its not just getting the PB to move it is getting it to actually face the tom wherever he comes out in the field. Then you move it side to side until he is getting close, then I swing it back around facing away from him. They come swinging right around the decoy perfectly. Or you can face the decoy at the blind and they will come inbetween you and the blind while looking at the PB facing away from you.

This thing is just like toilet paper, you wouldn't go hunting without it. :)

Butt toilet paper not $90.

Some times you make do with what you have.

I think I found a use for the fishing pole I bought the wife 7 years ago that hasnt been used once.;)

That is a great tactic, but you can accomplish the same thing if you do it with two fishing reels and attach to opposite sides of the decoy. That being said, two reels mean twice as much line and twice as many opportunities for it to mess up.

+1 I love the 360. It's a little pricey but there is no hassle what so ever.

Liv/JJ,

In your opinion after using them last year is this a must have in your turkey arsenal?
Do you believe it has really improved your success?

I have used fishing line before and like the no mess that the 360 brings with it.

Thanks for your opinion.
