It started on the 1st I was hunting a farm that I had just accepted an offer on and only had 1 month left to fill my landowners tag. This ten pointer with kickers on each g2 stepped out into the food plot but skirted the outside and stayed 60 yards away. He was a buck I had pictures of last year and wanted to kill him before I couldnt hunt the farm anymore. On the 3rd he came into the same plot but cut the corner and walked 35 yards behind me and through my 1 shooting lane without me able to get a shot. Now he was really getting on my nerves he was outsmarting me and probably didnt even know he was doing it. Well wednesday night with the small cold front I tried him again he came in right under me and I let the arrow fly. To make a long story short after no sleep that night and plenty of walking the next day I came up empty handed. I brought a buddy down with me to look saturday and wouldnt you know it he had made it to the river and was laying on a sand bar. I was excited and tired and everything at once when all of the sudden he picks his head up looks at us and runs off, with a broken left front leg. Well the chase was on. After a 3/4 mile run back to get my bow, an hour stalk and belly crawl, and another arrow later he was finally done. Sorry for the poor pics we didnt have a camera with us and I had to get him caped out so he didnt go bad.
Since my little girl was happy for her daddy and did such s good job with sitting by the deer and helping daddy take pictures we had to do a little playing in the leaves when we got home. I hate to say it on a deer hunting site but playing in the leaves with her was every bit as exciting as shooting that deer.
