Saturday Morning Buck

I shot this buck on our farm in Allamakee County Saturday morning at 915am. I had roughly 20 deer come through the woods, I saw one was a mature buck and got ready for a shot. He gave me an 85 yard shot and he dropped on impact. He's a mainframe 5X4 with broken stickers on his right G-2 and off the back of his right beam and a broken G-4 on his left side. I didn't take measurements before I drove back to school but with his heavy mass and long G-1's he should gross right around 150. Saw over 130 deer both days, with 20-25 bucks each day with 2-3 per day being 150" or larger. there definitely is no shortage of deer in our area. I still might drive home again Wednesday and get one more day out there to shoot a few more does.

Great buck, what is all that white stuff up there. Hopefully the snow holds off here for awhile I am not ready to bust out the shovel.

When your land is bordered by an enormous amount of federal ground that's off limits to hunting, you probably should see that many deer.

Congrats on a fine deer, it must have been a struggle just being in our State though?

best college town in america...would that be madison, WI?

Looks like a nice area to down a big one like that...love the snow.

Nice buck congrats! That is a good area up there and the timber in the pic looks familiar. If I get bored around here I may have to go back up your way hunting late season.

Congratulations Kelly! I saw that Dan got a real good one also, sounds like you guys had a good hunt.
