I run a full strut upright hen and a feeding hen. Full strutt tom is on a struttin 360. This brought them in great last year:way:
I also have a DSD jske on the way, the wife is gonna be pissed...... I may be sleepin in my ground blind.....

I keep my setups pretty simple. 1 or 2 hens together (1 head up one down) and a jake (head up) about 10 yards from the hens. EVERY hunt is the same no matter where I go. When the tom(s) come in they always make a beeline for the jake, spittin and struttin to beat the band :way:. So I keep the hens pretty close to my blind if Im using one(5 to 15 feet)and the jake out there another 10 or 12 yds. Had good results with a setup like that. I bought a breeding pair from scheels 3 years ago, you know the one that has the tom on top of the hen and the heads swivel beck and forth, but I think it is too agressive for the birds Ive been calling. They come to the setup, but once they see the breeding pair, they keep their distance and fade back into the timber within a couple of minutes without offering a shot. Someone told me that if a dominant bird comes to a breeding pair, I stand a good chance to watch him beat up the decoy. Havent seen that yet, but I really dont give em much time once they come in.

Cooter I totally agree with you.
I kept getting crap from a guy about buying them
He kept saying the same thing about price and they are so stupid.
I seen 14 turkeys get shot last year.
1 missed shot and 3 shot but not recovered. (Still not happy)
That is a lot of turkeys in one year. Had jakes come in on a string all the time. They acted just like the hen Cooter just showed.
I am not trying to brag here but to have that many turkeys that close
is something else. If you are going to bowhunt turkeys I highly recommend
DSD turkeys decoys.

Nothing beats a live decoy....stuffer is next in line but they dont last. DSD brings them in and will last a long time. I could have shot turkeys at 60yrds(ok shot at) in years past but the DSD brings them into 5yrds. Which is more my range

Cool vids. Sounded like you were cracking up in the short one! Youre right- Ive never had a hen do that, but I did have a tom harass my jake last spring. My 5 year old thought it was "totally sweet".Id like to post the vid, but its on old film-style camera.
Those DSDs look really nice. Maybe on my Christmas list for next year...I got a new camera this year.

Good to be all wound up about the latest ! Ain't it? I've had toms close enuff to grab out the window of my blind! And that was long before Dave was a turkey hunter!! It is what it is!! I use decoys! I am probably gonna buy one of dave's! Just don't think that is what ya have to have!! :way:
