Ramcat broadhead

Obviously the ramcat website out of stock? Where I got em last. Lemme check with another member on here too ;)
Make sure u get a quiver that fits them (very minor). I like them a lot & I’ve shot a gazillion broadheads. Not saying they are absolutely the best - but they up there. I literally have not lost a single deer while using them. They fly amazing, penetrate like crazy & do massive damage.
Oh- only other issue I had…. One bow had the blade barely touch the riser. Other bows it wasn’t an issue. The one bow it did- I just got longer arrows. Very well worth it as that head is kinda the “full package”. 1.5” cut for a 3 blade is pretty nuts.

The problem I always had with Ramcat is they used Jimmy Houston as their spokesperson. He is the one caught shooting deer in a 6 acre pen for his own personal gain. I swore I would never buy Ramcats even though I am sure their great broadheads when they choose him a spokesperson. You can google him for more info.

Im not a huge broadhead junky but ive done my own tests in my basement a pile of times & shot a gazillion deer to get an OPINION.
Ramcat
If I did do expandable - I’d do those Beast broadheads.
For a regular fixed - I think there’s a lot of good ones. Buddies use exodus. Wasp drone was always good. I’m sure a million good ones. Long long ago (when Indians hunted buffalo on the plains) - I started with muzzy 3 blade…. Was always “ok”. Flew decent & did ok… never great blood trails & I am thankful for the advancements & Choices we have today.

Wanted to bring this up for anyone interested.

Skip recommended the Ramcat Hydroschock combined with a 4mm FMJ arow to me probably over 10 years ago.

I took the bait and tried the arow/broadhead setup. Also the gold tip outsert for weight forward and strength.

I did get very good flight for a fixed broadhead.

Also at that time I moved from a 70lb bow to a 75 lb bow with a 30" drawl.

Since... I have shot 6 Bull Elk with complete pass through on 100% of them. The set up CRUSHES! Shots ranged from 40 - 60 yds. All passed through.
Have been thoroughly Impressed. I bought quite a few packs back then. Looked up on Amazon and last time I bought was 2018.

After returning from this years elk hunt I realized Im down to 2 or 3 broadheads. It appears they have stopped making them. I found what appears to be the same broadhead on Amazon but says it's a cross bow broadhead. Looked the same to me so I ordered a pack to compare. Got them and the are exactly the same. Doesn't appear to be a shortage so I bought 4 more packs. Hopefully last as long as I ever need.

BTW I also tried the 125grain in the beginning and had a better experience with the 100grain. Better fight aland better trajectory.

love it!!! Everyone (including myself) always tries to reinvent the wheel. Upgrade to the “newest greatest thing”. Which- all good!!!
On this…. It’s an arrow and a broadhead that u want to fly straight, penetrate, not fail & cut like crazy…. It does it. Flies “dang close” to field tip. 3 blades which is a 1.5” cut. Can’t not deploy & uses no energy deploying. I kinda think 3 blades at 1.5” can be more devastating than 2 blades at 2”.
Anyways- I still use this combo. I see so many other combos in use (some great stuff out there & lots of great options). I do see problems with “certain heads” far more than others. I have zero issues with this head & combo…. Wicked. I still haven’t lost a deer 10-ish years into this. Now - I took one chance With another head one time…. Shoulder & never recovered …. Still mighta been issue with this setup but I switched right back. Love it. Still using it and I absolutely have more confidence in this set up than any others I’ve seen or tried.
Glad for the above comments & even more so when stuff like ELK are in the mix!!! Awesome to hear!!
*I have zero association with arrow or BH company so this is as unbiased as it can get. I should try to buy the company that makes ramcat ;) They actually pry a pretty small business that stays fairly quiet …. Hmmmm.

Last time I ordered was last year …. No issue getting them at all….
****ok- update- they are all out of stock. Hmmm. Maybe I will need to get the business if ever get these heads again, ha!

This was a very well timed post!!! I too am down to my last 2 Ramcat 125 grain fixed heads and was unable to order from them and all I could find was the 100 grain. Called the number on the Ramcat website and talked to customer service gal there and the with the tariffs this year they ended up not making a purchase. She said that once the tariffs came off it was too late for this year, but they will look at it again next year. So there is still hope down the road.. and yes I will be stocking up on them if/when they become available!!

Ramcats definitely rank up there for best broadhead I have used based on performance. Deep penetration, unbelievable damage, and fly great. I have also never lost a deer shot with a Ramcat. Hope you can find some to try! I think you will like them.
