I'm going to get my Seedlings ordered for my Replant in my low lying river bottom.

I am planning on replanting 50 Swamp White Oaks. 25 in each area that's been cut pretty hard on the farm.

And I'm thinking of also including Red Ossier Dogwood. I hear it can grow most places.

What are your guys' experiences with Red Ossier dogwood? And possibly some tips and tricks for getting it started.

Tube or cage them. I tried fencing in a 20’x20’ area 6’ tall and peppered them heavily in the enclosed area, thinking surely it’s a small area they wouldn’t jump over to eat these. I was wrong. A weeks worth of hard work down the drain.

If you are gonna plant them, ^^ these guys said it.

Or go totally (overboard and plant a gazzilion, and hope most make it.
I've done mine with cuttings. WAY cheaper/ easier then buying rooted stock.

Sounds like their a great natural browse food source. Getting them started is the issue. Definitely going to have to tube or cage. I was thinking with 50 Red Ossier and Tube them all. How many years before they can survive on their own? 2?
From what I've read if ya get them started they really spread on their own.
