Anyone have a pulse on what walnut is going for now days? My parents are looking to pull out roughly 21-22mbf of what I would say are nice, quality, trees.
 
Lots of things working against the walnut market right now. Very bad time of year to cut high dollar logs. Tariffs are also really impacting who is buying and what they are paying. Really shocking to me how much of the Walnut is exported. I would not do a Walnut sale unless its an areas being cleared or another reason that cant be avoided. Some of the sales i saw late winter but after the Tariffs started brought about 50% of what they would have 18-24 months ago.

Trump is a complete clown. He did not win anything with China. He backed off because they didn’t flinch. This tariff war is a joke… we will never have equal trade with other countries. Anyone that has taken a basic economics class knows that equal trade is not what is best for each party. Focus on your strengths and buy from others to supplement your weaknesses.

Before you respond just know I voted for Trump.

Definitely not a clown. I'd say he's one of the best presidents this country will ever see. He is doing what every other president was afraid to do with trade. He's looking long-term, not at today. Just compare Trump to Biden, it's about as polar opposite as you can get.
 
He’s not trying for equal trade , he’s trying to offset the $$ that leaves the country to China & others. Mainly China !This will fix that.

We want investment in the US, at least most Americans do & that’s happening now. The amount is up to $5-6 trillion in new commitments.

I almost fell of my chair reading this, laughing. I'm republican and he is the worst president ever! All his trade wars have done is make him and the billionaires richer while the middle class struggles. If you'd listen to the facts, you'd know that the last administration had the best economy in the world, ever. I do agree that some of this administration's policies are great, but most are for the rich creating a bigger divide between the middle class. DJT lies constantly!!!

Last administration the best economy ever...you can't be serious. Biden will go down as one of , if not the worst president ever. That's hardly debatable
Trump is just past 100 days in, we got a ways to go before you can judge his term, IMO

I'm a little less than 50/50 on Trump 2.0 right now, but I'd really like some of those facts you reference to back up how you think the Biden admin had the best economy "in the world, ever". I watch most of the economic conditions and indicators across many markets and I'm calling shenanigans on that one...

You cannot possibly think Trump is one of the worst Presidents ever, we just came off Biden (he never did a thing, except hide) had 9% inflation, an open border, a second Russian invasion under his watch ? Crime was terrible, and he sided with the Criminals.

He could not walk or talk, ride a bike. He couldn’t debate . I wouldn’t want him to run a Casey’s let alone be President.

His economy was killed by Jimmy Carter type inflation … in 2022 the NASDAQ finished the year down -33%.

Truly unbelievable that he was ever in office, then they covered up his mental state and acted like he was up for the job! Insanity .

His administration covered dimentia and now cancer. No way Biden gets to stage 4 without his doctors noticing. Who was running the nation. Another coverup and lie.

Remember Hunter Biden’s meets with foreign leaders and the “Big Guy” using shell companies to collect money in exchange for political favors? Another lie not to mention criminal activity. Btw, that’s an example of the rich feeding the rich.

I haven't been thrilled with Trump 2.0, particularly on a lot of things going on with conservation. I am optimistic some of the pain will be good, long term. Thats the hope.

The alternative was EXPONETIALLY WORSE.

Biden wasn't even president or I'd call him the worst ever. He clearly was not calling the shots. Puppet

Loving Trump so far!!! ANY president perfect? NOPE! Both Bush’s, Obama, Biden- absolute jokes & I believe history will not view them exceptionally in almost any regard. Biden is by far and away the worst. I truly believe history will deem him the worst prez ever- worse than jimmy carter by a mile!

If my walnut or ag prices slow because we are getting untwined with China & it’s better for our nation in the long run- I’m all for it. & yes, China rips us off, steals our technology, cheats, uses slave labor & produces garbage products…. So the BILLIONAIRES can get richer & us peasants can feel like we saved a few bucks buying products that are cheap disposable garbage.
If we have to “get off China” …. It’s kinda like treating cancer…. The treatment isn’t fun & theres side effects. But if it stops the cancer- well worth it. I’ll wait on selling walnuts & as farmers we’ll be just fine with today’s commodity prices. & heck, our prices were lower under Obama than Trump’s first term!! Our country is going in direction of collapse…. Sorry, things have to change & it doesn’t mean it’s rainbows & butterflies curing the issues of the last 40 years.
& yes, look at that southern border crisis & how fast that turned!!!! Wow. & the Middle East!!!! INFLATION slowing rapidly. On & on …. Only way I wouldn’t support 75%+ of this is if I listened to the main stream lib media everyday. Funny how they rarely talk about all the positive changes & just focus on the stupid junk like an Illegla MS-13 gang member getting sent to El Salvador vs the other countries he shoulda gone to.
