Tank dye

Anyone ever use this? If so does it work? If I’m spraying I usually procrastinate enough I can follow my progress by watching the tire tracks in the weeds. To be safe though I overlap and have often wondered how much spray I waste doing that. Thought about trying the dye if it works and doesn’t stain the tank. I saw 2 varieties at our farm store. One blue and one green colored. Not sure what green dye would mark on green plants but thought the blue might work.

I use it when spraying aroung my trees just to make sure I'm not overspaying or drifting. The blue works decent.

I use Laser for spot spraying. Its blue. Makes a mess but very handy when in timber spraying invasives. Not practical in large field or plot applications imo.

I mix acumen (yellow pre-emergent) works great for spraying. Blue is a joke.

If can't use the pre-emergent...simple method is strips of toilet paper. Works great.

I know there are some apps you can get on your phone for this. You put sprayer length, and it shows what you spray as you go. Has anyone tried one of these apps? Like Tractor GPS?

I been using this for a couple years. Connext to a tablet. Works great.

Rob, has the accuracy of the original unit been adequate for you? I can't seem to find the accuracy now in their specs, but when I found it before it seems like the original accuracy was somewhere around 18" and the upgraded Ion unit cut that in about half. While I am primarily only doing plots, I'd be pretty upset if I had 12" skips in my spray booms scattered - that is exactly what I am trying to avoid.

I have a 21' boom. I set implement to 20' on app. I have no missed spots at all.
