That’s some poaching…. Wow

Being in LE for a long time I’m shocked at the game wardens comment that they didn’t want to pursue the drugs because the game violations go away, meaning the more serious charges take precedence.

We often faced this dilemma but always sided with the more serious offense per public safety and deferred to the agency best equipped to handle it.

They could have split charges. US Wildlife assisted by Kansas DNR do the poaching and the applicable state pursue the drugs. I have a ton of questions about this case if I could talk to the officers.

I don't quite understand the reasoning behind it. It seems like the majority of these guys could have gotten these tags and hunted there legitimately l. Probably for similar money they spent....

Talk about an unnecessary risk with no reward!

Thanks for sharing this link. That story just makes my blood boil. Besides the POS that did all the illegal actions, the landowners who leased out their land are part of the blame. There is no way they didn't have an idea of the illegal activities going on. Locals are pretty keen on what's happening, I don't care how remote it is. Work gets around. Those landowners enabled that scum.

Always two sides to a coin. Some farmers want all deer dead. Some ranchers might welcome the revenue in tight margin situations. Not everybody cares about deer/wildlife.

Nothing wrong with a landowner leasing out their land for hunting but taking the money and letting illegal activities run freely, turning a blind eye is the issue I have.

Probably distanced themselves, knew nothing firsthand to avoid culpability. I've seen shady leases here in Iowa get busted and the landowner probably didn't know or maybe didn't care. Cash is king.

These guys should have there hunting privileges revoked for life within every state that’s involved with the Wildlife Protection Compact. Not that it would matter because poachers will want to poach but at least these guys would be on the radar on any state within the compact. These guys are pure trash and should be treated as such from here on in. The damage these criminals have done to the resource is unforgivable and inexcusable. I pray that one way or another they get what’s coming to them.
