Barely got the blind door closed after her and her brother and I got in Saturday afternoon and the deer were already out. I asked my daughter if she was sure she wanted to shoot a doe and use up her tag and she said “Of course! I have a doe tag too!, mom let me open the mail.” Kind of wanted to keep that a secret for awhile yet.. Her little brother cheered her on since he did not want his brat and sausage supply to be in jeopardy. Was a fun 5 minute hunt but the daughter in flip flops was not much help dragging. Didn’t think much about what she was wearing since it was hot and we were going to a blind but definitely should have noticed the shoes. I think they had fun at least!

Thanks Curtis! The deer love the leftover foodplot seed! Not sure where she aquired her shooting skills.. definitely wasn’t me.. or her mom since I’d be long gone if that was the case…. I’m getting more suspicious of the constant amazon/ups deliveries all the time.

Totally agree! I got lucky and her first deer was a doe.. In year 2 a 140 inch ten pointer was the first deer we saw all year.. It’s on her wall now. She started to think hunting was easy and luckily she’s set on wanting her second buck to be bigger than her first.. so far she hasn’t changed her mind. Has got quite a few does since then and I’m not opposed to it at all.. Selfishly just wasn’t looking forward to cutting it up right away that night in the 80 degree weather ;)
