What happend today? Only loosely been following.I think the chances of him being saved by the liberal establishment just took a turn for the worse today…
School board put him on unpaid leave and released a statement. Basically saying they were deceived. What happend today? Only loosely been following.
I do agree that if the gun charge was truly derived from that ^^ reported interaction, it is bogus. But...I cannot be the least bit certain that this is how things truly went down. I don't have the facts to say one way or the other, but there is enough subterfuge and deception associated with this cat for me not to give him the benefit of the doubt in terms of what really happened....
During the conversation, Roberts said, he put his hunting rifle on the back seat of his vehicle and left the door open so that the gun was in plain view. Roberts said that he is aware that loaded firearms are not permitted in vehicles and planned to unload it before leaving but put the rifle in the vehicle "to ensure the warden... did not feel unsafe or threatened in any way" while they talked.
"After answering the officer's questions as requested, to my disbelief, I was then cited for having a loaded weapon in my vehicle," Roberts said.

When people go into this type of excruciating detail it is likely they are trying to string a story together.I found this when I was searching for what "gun charge" Ian Roberts had.
Roberts said that he is a longtime licensed hunter and gun owner and had been hunting for a buck on that day without success. He said that he was walking back to his vehicle when he was stopped by a state game warden inquiring about the activities of others at a nearby gun range.

There are always two sides to the story but if this is actually what happened and he was cited for that, that is BS in my opinion. The officer easily could have said, "Hey, I see you put your gun in the vehicle and I appreciate you setting that there while we talked but before you go, I'm going to watch you unload it so you can drive home legally."
I would imagine that "gun charge" was considered when the judge was reviewing his case on whether he could stay or not.
