Has anyone ordered trees for next spring …?post em up !

I have roughly 20 Black Hills Spruce, 20 Cedar … a mix of oak & walnut for Missouri , a few shrubs . (5) apple tree including Chestnut Crab, Hawkeye, Big Dog , Centennial & couple others .

I did 1000 trees and shrubs this spring. I'll order maybe 100 for this spring to fill in any losses and expand a bit. 1000 order was Swamp White Oak, Bur Oak, Pin Oak, Chinkapin Oak, Walnut, Kentucky Coffee. Shrubs were Redosier dogwood, Ninebark, Wild Plum, Arrow wood and Grey Dogwood.

Did you protect them all or leave them be. I bought a 3 point tree planter a couple weeks ago and trying to decide whether to plant a lot of trees and either not protect them or protect a few or plant less and protect all of them. Right now have several hundred in the garden overwintering but might order some more. In the garden I have swamp oak, pin oak, chestnut, schuette oak, dco, and hazelnuts.

Tubed 100, rest are on their own. This was an EQIP plan. 1.8 acres so way too dense and expect some not to make it. All done with dibble bar. I would not do that again with that number of trees.

Planting/tubing trees is the worst. Having them planted is the best! Had a bunch of help this past year on my 350.....made a big difference! 1000 is insane. I haven't been brave enough to not tube the ones I've bought except the norway spruce/arborvitae.

We did 500 one year, all plugs with a plug tool . You must have been exhausted. That’s a lot of trees !

Plant about 150 trees a year. From cedars to hardwoods. Fill the gaps of those that didn't make it year before

I always order from our county tree sale and usually plant about 2/3's of them in my big compost/mulch pile behind the house(where the hose reaches) to jumpstart them for a year or so, and then put the rest right in the ground in areas I've been working on filling in on our farm. I usually try to pick the best plants in the bunch, to plant right away out on the farm. Then nurse the smaller ones for the year until next spring. Ive been repeating this cycle now for 8 years with various types of trees. This way i always have some nice bigger 1-2 year old "care for" trees from the mulch/compost pile, to put in each spring, in addition to the smaller trees i put in from my order.
This year we did
200 frasier fir
100 Eastern Arborvitae
100 American plum
200 Norway Spruce
I have 40-50 5-6 ft crabapples that I've been watering/nursing this past 3 years that will go in this spring as well.
