Compartmentalizing Food Plots

I was listening to Sturgis yesterday and he doesn’t like the idea of compartments on plots. I don’t see the checkerboard of tiny room plots being great idea but I do see merit in larger plots broken up into quarter to half acre chunks with a sight line barrier. Wondering what everyone’s take is on this? Any examples of failure or positive results?

Every plot of 1/2 acre or bigger i put a line of switch in that come across to within 25 yrds of other side does 2 things reduces them seeing the whole plot and influences movements around the end closer to stand

Don't take advice from someone who doesn't have the history to back it up.

Anyone gone overboard and tried the checkerboard pattern or too many barrier screens. Curious what the threshold would be. Some of the Michigan guys prescribe the compartments while others will run an elongated line spliting the large plot up(3 acres). In Ohio it’s hard to gauge what works best, living out west doesn’t help.
