That's a tough one. Maybe it should be limited to NRLO only?
Otherwise as a NRLO, you are limited to only hunting does when you have a buck tag, which we know is 5-6 year wait for archery and 2-3 for shotgun.
As a NRLO, I have bought the $400 doe tag plenty of times during gun season, just to be able to sit and hunt my own farm.

Good differentiator. I should reword the question.

What I would say, is that if I need to wait 4 years and pay 700 bucks to hunt (which is fine), I should not have to buy a $100 doe tag. Make it optional.
Seems like extortion by the State to force NR's to buy a doe tag, IMO.

It’s nice the DNR gets $$ but also hard to justify why non-residents get an antlerless tag in some areas and residents can’t. Hard to cry about population when non residents are required to buy a doe tag too. I’d personally rather just see them stuck paying more for the anysex tag. I don’t really care either way.. just hard to defend why those that draw an anysex automatically get an antlerless tag when residents can’t
