Zach Lahn

Very good meeting.
IWILL is a go. Commitment there.
Habitat, improving hunting & growing opportunities- a go.
We had a very good discussion & made some progress on him understanding iowa is the last great special place, it’s hurting & it’s always looking to be exploited.
All sorts of topics & even some…. Just t’d up an issue & let him speak without leading him. Was very pleased with his understanding & what is guiding him. We have a lot in common!!
more to come. I’ve been in touch a couple times a week on a few other issues. This is a “really get to know & understand someone” time right now. Meeting with a lot of other candidates for various offices, etc.
This is a new world for those running vs say 10 years ago. It’s amazing how the pendulum has swung from farm bureau with their awful ideas running the show. We have a real & true opportunity for change here! Very optimistic

Zach Lahn's first job is to get elected. Campaign center, govern right. Just like the liberals. He'll tell you what you want to hear. If you're looking for new taxes...vote Sand. If you're looking to implement old taxes not realized...vote Sand. Want POT...vote Sand. More Mosques...vote Sand. More homelessness...vote Sand. Less Industry...vote Sand. Less business...vote Sand. Less Retirees...vote Sand. Less overall revenue...vote Sand. If you want real money created, not stolen from the little old lady down the street...VOTE LAHN! Don't get it twisted. Learn from Kim Reynolds not Zohran Mamdani.
This is a new world for those running vs say 10 years ago.
THIS IS A FACT JACK!!!

It was a great meeting. No audio or recording of it to share. But he was pretty direct and genuine with more time available then I expected. Often you have roughly 10-15 minutes and then they have to run. More meetings coming in the future with both sides hopefully. I have a follow up to yesterday's discussion getting scheduled now for a tour of my business and another sit-down discussion. But like skip already said- great responses to our (ISC's) topics and he was well informed on the questions we asked.

Lahn’s commercial about buying the farm back is VERY well done. Love it.

We see Iowa political commercials on local tv here and most of them are attack ads by outside groups/pacs and I cant take them.

I gotta disagree with some of this.. some of the biggest farmers I know, huge farm bureau supporters, vote for democrats.. they might be socially conservative and act like they don’t agree with much of the weird stuff modern democrats support, but when it’s time to vote they vote for democrats all day long. Must be the handouts ;). .. also guys with dozens of hog/chicken barns aren’t exactly big supporters of mass deportations if you know what I mean. They are definitely not pro sportsman/conservation either. They are the stereotypical big ag farmers most on here complain/joke about. A lot more of them actually vote for democrats more than you’d ever think. A lot of the anti ag stuff we are being constantly blasted with is nothing but election year propaganda and unfortunately way too many are falling for it.. wasn’t Biden gonna cure cancer?? What ever came of that? C’mon Man!

I know there’s a few. I made Biden jabs for 4 years across the state & I can’t remember one time I got push back. Sc iowa to NW iowa. I do know they exist. I’m certain some will vote D in state election that couldn’t stand Biden. & getting 82m votes- most popular president in our nations history … any walk of life- sure was hard to come across even a handful of those 82m folks
With all that said…. I actually would be 10000% for BIDEN ‘28!!!!! Or Harris!!! I’d endorse either & stroke a check for either ticket!!! ;)

Show…
hahaha…. Sorry, i’ve been at work for about 36 hours straight.. got Biden brain. Or whatever it is.. probably not much for brain at this point which is probably classified as Biden brain…. Either way…. really no offense meant to any of his supporters. Just thought Biden brain was less offensive than mush for brains.. he did get the most votes of any candidate ever!! I might have to reread all of this in a few days before I respond.. I read it as you’ve switched to full blown commie/ Mamdani! Skip “Mandami Sligh”. Biden/harris 28 campaign chair!! Know that’s not true.. gotta get those new contacts in. Old age is taking its toll on my vision!

While we are it I came up with the perfect campaign slogan. Mandami Sligh! One buck for all, some will be big, some will be small! Some will get two, dont blame the Jews, this is just how it goes let the peasants shoot does…

Obviously this is if you’ve gone over to the dark side. Which I will never in a million years believe has actually happened!!!! Skip “tim Walz” Sligh makes me laugh tho. Hahaha. Literally tampon tim.. wild his supporters walk among us. We all gotta work extra hard to not let crap gain a foothold around here. Hunting is my life.. we have bigger battles tho!! Gotta work to end the craziness. Thankful for people like you who are constantly fighting the good fight!!

My personal opinion.... if Iran War is not resolved before mid terms Republicans and in for really bad results. Regardless of how you personally feel about it, the war is incredibly unpopular with the American people. Not here to argue about the war. Trump approval rating is at an all time low. And its directly tied to the conflict. Mid terms are won or loss top down.

Well, true leaders act and make hard decisions that are unpopular with those who don’t take the time to research and understand the “why” behind action.

I’ll take Trump any day over do nothings like Obama, Clinton, and Biden. If we lose mid terms oh well. I guess folks forget gas prices, inflation, unchecked immigration , Iranian terror funding, voter fraud and unchecked fraud under Biden/Obama. Can’t be criticized if you do nothing.

Oh the last administration did something. Their primary initiative was DEI and trans inclusion. Either that or socialism programs depending on which dems might get voted in this next mid term is what we will hear. Too each their own but if people believe those issues are the top of the list this country has big problems!!!

Hard to forget gas prices when they’re climbing under the current administration. I agree with you on the other stuff. But gas prices, lol!

Pretty sure we had rampant inflation and yet called it the “Inflation Reduction Act” under that last administration and what did that administration put in the media, DEI, moderating “Wording” to not offend anyone and emphasized putting men in girls’ sports and bathrooms. Any politician or administration is going to have flaws but where do we align with most of what they are doing. I’m willing to take a hit on gas prices to keep men out of my daughter’s locker room and to see the best applicant hired for a job. Some of the stuff the new world Dems are saying right now is crazy. Why would someone move from a foreign country and then try to make the US like the country they came from??? Look up the Maine senate debate and tell me how much gas prices concern you then. We all will never agree with EVERYTHING a particular party or administration is doing but as a whole are they doing a good job. Generally speaking there are a lot of concerning candidates for 2028 from the Dems. Top five right now Iowans should be scratching our heads on what we would get if they are successful.

Newsom
Ossoff
AOC
Harris
Buttigieg

Hard to imagine a world where Newsom isnt the candidate, assuming he runs. At least his record and what hes done to California is easy to attack.

Hopefully we can have cheap gas and common sense policies. I completely agree with you, progressive Democrats are a dumpster fire! Those 5 candidates are the absolute worst! Throw Walz in there too and you have a 6 pack of total idiocy!

There isn't a poll or an approval rating that I trust today. If there are votes for Trump lost because of the Iran war there are way more gained because there has been true old school Democrats that have had their eyes opened by world events and Trump. I'm not concerned with the upcoming election. IN TRUMP I TRUST!

As someone who buys 15,000 gallons of fuel a week, I totally agree!

Have had a front row seat to decline in productivity since this thing started. California was bad but at least they were a long way from us. Then the BS started in Colorado. I would encounter the newly transplanted Colorado residents there only to grow weed. Real losers. Dregs. No redeeming qualities. Then I started encountering people who were making a living in Colorado moving back east. “I built houses and made a great living. Now I can’t get people to come to work. All they want to do is smoke weed.” Etc etc.

Then Oklahoma and the Chinese made Colorado look like a mom and pop store next to a Walmart super center.

Some people can handle weed. Some people can’t. I couldn’t care less what the people who can handle it do. Saw a case of cannabis induced psychosis up close and personal. Thats no joke. Making it more available will help no one. Remember when those jokers were going to cure every ailment with thc? Don’t hear that anymore because it was a lie. Good for mental health? Nah.

Guy in my state ran a large dispensary chain. Selling that non violent legal weed. Just got indicted for money laundering. Handed a couple Mex cartel dudes a couple duffle bags of money to load on a Cessna to fly to Mexico. That is real crime.
I think money laundering is rampant in that industry. The wife and I just got back from a trip out west and we drove through more than one rural Montana town that couldn't have had more than 500 people but had 3-5 dispensaries in town. Every one of them open, none of them with more than one car in the parking lot. I'm talking bumfuck nowhere Montana...

You mean to tell me Ashland, Montana can keep 3 or 4 dispensaries open? I'm skeptical.

You are 100% right in your thinking. Lax cannabis enforcement has made rural areas the playgrounds of large scale criminal organizations. Oklahoma is the current worst example. Their legalization laws resulted in Chinese criminal groups buying farmhouses with buildings all over the state. They then bring in both legal and illegal immigrants who work as slave labor to “pay off” their transportation to the U.S. by human traffickers by growing and processing weed all day every day and living in squalor. (BTW, that “legal weed” you are buying at a “legitimate” dispensary is usually diverted black market weed grown by this Chinese slave labor.). In Oklahoma on any rural blacktop, in the middle of nowhere, cops are encountering east coast thugs, Chinese traffickers and semi’s that are hauling half a semi trailer of weed back to the east coast, Chicago, Atlanta, anywhere in between. They are seizing duffle bags of cash from these people showing up to buy a few hundred thousand dollars of weed at a time.

So when I look at Ashland Montana, I see a goldmine. Easy access to Oregon and Washington where Chinese org crime grows weed and Eastern European criminal gangs traffic it. I see easy access and lax rural border crossings into Canada and the Trans Canada Highway where it would be unlikely to import weed, but weed money turns into kilos, guns and real mayhem for the Canadians. Best of all, that little rural patch is what overland traffickers are looking for. Two lane highway access without license plate readers. License plate readers have made conventional overland smuggler travel to the west coast more difficult. But Rural Montana is perfect. You can rent a car in Ohio and carry your duffel bag with $75,000 in it and gravel to Montana to buy black market weed sold out the back door of the dispensary. (No tax collected for Montana, they just get the benefit of thugs staying at the local Super-8.). Instead of going to the west coast and getting their plate read, it looks like they only went to Montana to look at elk, trees and rocks. They fill their trunk with duffle bags of weed and head on back to Ohio where they either distribute it (tax free) or sell it out of a “legal” dispensary. Again, tax free, the public only bears the hidden cost of negative effects to society.

Last thing: In Illinois, the rally cry is that non-violent weed users shouldn’t go to prison over “merely possessing ” weed. Well….. They never did. The people who were in Illinois prisons were selling pounds (and usually coke meth in smaller quantities) and had their “dealing” type charges reduced to “possession” type charges in a plea agreement. Another interesting fact: We had more people in prison in Illinois for retail theft (shop lifting) than weed offenses. (About 4% of our prison population is weed offenses, 4% retail theft.)
