    Future of CRP

Off topic - looks like they changed suppressor tax from $200 to $0 in OBBB. Still need the registration, but they're trying to change that too.... There's a lot to like in the OBBB!

    Future of CRP

Look Looks like they did, includes changes to crp, PLC/ARC, Crop Insur, base acres, etc.... Not sure I understand what all of it means myself. For Example: a reduction in spending from conservation programs (-$1.8 billion, FY2025-2034), interaction effects (-$3.6 billion) and sequestration...

    Land prices summer 2025 & on….

At this point, anything is possible. I feel like I'm living in the matrix. Things that made sense 20 years ago make no sense today. I think that's why Warren Buffett is having such a hard time investing the last 5 , 10 years. He missed out on a lot of gains by selling some stocks, GS as an...

    Future of CRP

I didn't know about any crp that you could mow during nesting season. All of ours you can only mow July 15- Sept 15 unless you're just spot mowing trees.. is it different "there"?

    Big rains last night

Wow, that's a lot of rain. The forecasters were saying 5" in parts of Iowa, you mean they got it right?

    Spraying clover and alfalfa?

    Todays prep work

I completely forgot about my pumpkins this year.....crap....not that I've had much luck the past 2 years with them, I haven't, but if I get to the farm next week, I'll throw some in the ground after I spray...... Have you looked for artifacts around the Indian camp?

    Iowa Whitetail Potluck/ Fish Fry

A friend of mine has bees. 2 Years ago I planted a Bee Keeper clover mix and it was always full of bees. in fact, there was so many you'd walk into that clover field and it was just humming, first time I walked into it I was wondering what the noise was. She planted it this year in her food...

    Future of CRP

Definitely will be if history is any indication. But also could be the difference between getting something as opposed to nothing if they change crp significantly in future years. I've lost a few acres over the years due to crp changes.

    "Lesser Expensive" No-Till Drills???

I always thought this would make a good cheap drill....auction was today for one but I couldn't get there in time

    Custom farming

I appreciate the advice, sounds like a better way for me to approach it than what I was thinking. For the acres I wanted to start with, I'm sure I'd be paying a premium in custom fees. Thanks for suggesting a different way to get involved/educated, which is really my goal. I am now thinking I...

    Custom farming

I've been considering hiring out to custom farm some ground I have. Who else custom farms their ground and what tips can you give someone who wants to do the same? Why did you decide to custom farm as opposed to cash rent the ground? What should I prepare myself for on this journey? Tia
