I didn't know about any crp that you could mow during nesting season. All of ours you can only mow July 15- Sept 15 unless you're just spot mowing trees.. is it different "there"?

Definitely will be if history is any indication. But also could be the difference between getting something as opposed to nothing if they change crp significantly in future years. I've lost a few acres over the years due to crp changes.

I've been considering hiring out to custom farm some ground I have. Who else custom farms their ground and what tips can you give someone who wants to do the same? Why did you decide to custom farm as opposed to cash rent the ground? What should I prepare myself for on this journey? Tia
