My two boys love to fish and they ask darn near every day to go.
They both have now caught bigger bass than I have. It sure is fun hearing them giggle and squeal when they are reeling in a good one.

Hatred both ways ABSOLUTELY is an issue for this country. One group is often more outspoken and louder on social media which causes a lot on the right to think that ALL the left is that way. And when the president doesn't put near as much emphasis when democrats get killed in their homes as he...
It is well worth the listen!
I firmly believe he saved crossbows from being in Iowa from the language/questions in the previous resident hunter survey. He mentioned it in the podcast but it was something along the lines of 95% of hunters were satisfied with current weapon choices. Having hard...
It has been sweeping through the hunting/conservation/outdoor recreation side of social media for about a week or so now. A republican from Utah threw it into the bill in the middle of the night in hopes of it passing. I'm very much against the selling of public land.
Maybe 1/10th of an acre. It was brome when I started and I used my parent's string weed eater to try and "mow" it. Hit it with a little roundup. Paid way too much for a bag of who knows what seed from a guy that had leftovers, and threw it out. The only thing that grew was some rye but it was...
We have a half clover half brassica field that we rotate back and forth each year. The brassica portion from last year has a bunch of thistles in it and they are large. What is our best plan of attack at the moment with those? Spray? (And if so, we have gly and 2-4d - what would the...
It looks like roughly 5% of Iowa households make over $230k/year and the average annual salary in Iowa is right about $50k. When you take the number of hunters who are in that top 5% of households you're talking about a very few number of people who can make that equation work.
I get the 'work...
We had a .6 acre brassica plot last year that has been taken over by thistles this spring. We have gly and 2-4,d on hand. Will either of those or a mixture of both kill them?

Opening day of 4th season found me at the "turkey killin' tree" in some big timber that we've named for good reason. It was a beautiful morning with birds hammering but nothing within 300 yards or so. They were fired up but nothing seemed to be getting closer so I was contemplating getting up...
I have five shoulder mounts and I already wrestle with leaving a "bunch" of mounts for family to deal with after I'm gone. Even on good deer I go back and forth on shoulder mounts but at $1000 a pop I think it's going to be euros unless it's a giant.
