    Who has the best switchgrass?

Variety!!! We have been using a mix of sunburst, cave in rock, and RC big rock. Big rock establishes like a lawn grass in no time flat, which helps get the stand started with less weed pressure while the others might take a season to stratify seeds/set roots. We've had stands 6'+ in the FIRST...

    Anybody been ice-fishing?

We got into a nice mess today! Haven’t had great ice seasons here the last couple years, what a way to start this year! Oldest boy (4) caught his very first solo fish through the ice, and got 4 total! Finished up with around 30, 12”avg too! Yummy! Core memory, check.

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

IMHO - I think the cell cam "issue" revolves more around the ease of use and time spent operating them. There is a way larger number of hunters who are willing to put out a cell cam and never have to check it, as opposed to the amount of hunters that are willing/able to run cards regularly. It's...

Giant Deer of Iowa are rapidly becoming a past memory

Well said. If we, as a whole community, cannot see what we have done ourselves - we will never fix it. It's either weapon de-evolution, or we go one buck. With the last 20 years, does anyone honestly believe we will have a stable population statewide in the next 20? I hate to fear the worst, but...

    Bean arrangement with farmer

Small tangent, has anyone done beans when a farmer wants to spread pig crap? Does it deter them much, aside from the shatter/loss?

    floating landowner turkey tags

Fall is split kind of similar to archery deer. Bow runs like oct 1-dec 5, and then same time as late archery split. Fall gun is only like oct 13 - dec 5, no late split for gun.

High fence opinion in specific example???….

It’s so awful how accurate the last couple sentences are.. Migration corridors for mule deer, etc in Wyoming - completely perfect use of fencing and bridges. This a migration that has occurred as long as modern history itself - and beyond. Our interstates directly impacted this and threatened...
