HOW LONG LIVE? Stomach & maybe liver- PIC!!!

Had we not tracked that day he very well may have been in the first bed at 250ish yards. We found him within 100 yards of where we ended our tracking, so almost certain we bumped him to that location the night of tracking. Crazy tough critters!

    2 Clover questions

Agree on reassessment in a couple weeks. I've mowed some off first time in July with 5'+ weeds/rye, and had success. I was actually mowing to prep for spraying for green plots when i discovered this. I returned to spray in like 10 days or so from mowing the jungle, and was surprised phenomenal...

    Multi Flora Removal

You can foliar spray, but have to get close to 100% coverage and it can be tough on big bushes. Burning can wipe them out really well if enough fuel present.

    Best $30ish trail camera

Tasco from walmart run pretty good for $30. pics are a little blurry at night but for the money they work well

    Law enforcement trail cam ????

That being said, they are also the only one that actually works properly 100% of the time. Hence their price and application in research projects and law enforcement. Expense certainly prices them out of many situations.

    Any cuddeback experts on here?

We have several cell plans between hunting partners, and we have each of these plans send to both of our emails. We do this with multiple different people. Almost daily one of us will receive a photo and the other never gets it. Definitely some issue there, and suspect misses many potential...

    Switchgrass for access

I’d bet nighttime beds - almost impossible to tell though, without actually seeing them with a drone or something. We don’t see much day time bedding within the switch fields here - they always seem to prefer areas with above head cover - timber / thickets. I’m sure they would if there was...

    Rut Report

7yo daylighted for the first time today that wasn’t within minutes of dark - panting working a scrape at 8:30. Hopefully his last night is tonight! Drove the south central part of the state through the timbered area the entire way yesterday - easily seen 30-50 bucks on does. 2 super mature...

    Need some advice

Hopefully that means 12” approximately inside the deer - guessing you got both lungs with that penetration - pending exactly the height you hit him!! Hope burried offside shoulder! Good luck!!!!

Thoughts on deer prospects this year?

We are in a similar boat. 50+ cameras ran over a good portion of south central Iowa for the last 5-7 years very consistently. Over that timeframe and across 10+ different farms as well as public, we have had anywhere from 5-10+ mature bucks to chase. Two years ago we had 5 that EASILY would have...

    Dogs Dogs Dogs

Contact the sheriff and ask him to make it a priority. Our local sheriff did just this a few years ago, and now we have an ordinance in place due to his pulling for it. I believe it’s warning, $750 first offense, $1,000 second offense. To most of these “useless” dog owners that just let the...

    Advice on killing poison ivy…

They’ll eat anything they can reach. Especially great on MFR - we did a few patches years ago. Worked great. I think we had like 7 goats on and acre. Worked fast!
